Imposter Syndrome
Imposter syndrome. The feeling of being an intellectual fraud and not deserving success or your job! Both men and women experience imposter feelings. In fact, at some point 70% of people experience imposter feelings. It’s rare that success is down to pure luck and nothing to do with your experience, skills talent, or hard work. So why do we have these thoughts?
Well, let’s start with who determines the benchmark that we measure ourselves against? Yes, it’s us! Our view of what is good enough is determined by a set of unconscious rules we have determined. I’m sure no one will be surprised to learn that these benchmarks tend to be unrealistic, out of reach and unsustainable.
Time to get things in perspective. From time to time we experience moments of doubt, but let’s not allow these moments to take over our lives. Freedom from these limiting beliefs is in your grasp; it starts with acknowledging these thoughts and questioning them before you engage.
Free yourself from this limitation and reframe your thinking.
